The stored procedure will then run with the default values: = 1 Once you have the procedure in your msdb database, then run the query via: Select = + Turn on double quotes for text strings */ * Get next date to delte history data */ PRINT 'Return Value: ' + convert(varchar(100), + ' at current time: ' + convert(varchar(20),getdate()) PRINT 'Return Value: ' + convert(varchar(100), + ' at current time: ' + If transactions have been turned on then commit on success */ * If general output has not been turned off print output*/ * If transactions have been turned on then rollback if failed */ * Turn on double quotes for text strings */ Select = & 1 = 1 print ' + convert(varchar(60), 20) If & 1 = 1 print 'Settings date variables.' If & 1 = 1 print 'Checking if just defaults have been used.' PRINT must be >= ' + convert(varchar(20), + '' It makes for easier changing, when comparing the default values in the codeġ Required parameter value not specified. My stored procedure is just a wrapper which automates the task of deleting old backup history using the built-in sp_delete_backuphistory (Microsoft | SQL Docs) procedure. Entering a simple date using the sp_delete_backuphistory procedure can cause issues, because it has to go a long way back in time to delete the information from the various tables. With a large msdb database you might have a lot of info that takes a long time to delete. Instead of entering a date it gets the current date and goes 1080 days (default) back in time and starts deleting the backup history in steps of 1 (default) up until 180 days (default). In conclusion SuperNZB is a reliable, fast and practical application you can use to download NZB files. You might want to have a look at this stored procedure I created some time back. You also get stats that inform you of the combined speed, peak and the estimated time left. The archives you need are separated into more smaller ones while downloading and the application displays the server status, if any errors occur, the archive size, download speed and progress. The application also features a RAR decoder that helps you unpack the archived files. Since Usenet doesn't offer automatic error correction, NZB files generally contain PAR documents that help you repair other files which are damaged during download and SuperNZB makes use of an unPARing feature. To download the files, all you have to do is find them on a newsgroup server, enter its URL, username and password. As a download manager it also provides you with a queue, stats, decodes for PAR and RAR formats, as well as job manager for them. It also features a RAR decoder and a SFV file checker. The application can’t find NZB files for you so you have to search for them on NZB-Indexing web sites. SuperNZB displays a user-friendly interface which most parts is self explanatory. Not to mention that you get help and explanations along the entire use of the application which makes it a very good choice even for beginners. You do get this feeling the moment you run it for the first time as you are greeted with a window that helps you understand how to download NZB files, how to extract them from RAR archives, how to repair damaged items with PAR files and how to verify them with SFV. The application is made to be simple to use and comprehensive. SuperNZB is a tool created to help you download large NZB files onto your computer without any special effort using the Usenet system.
